TreasurerI was appointed as group treasurer in 2023 and I am finding it is an enjoyable and rewarding experience to work alongside the other dedicated volunteers to further develop and improve the group for the 150 young people that attend across the different sections.
I currently have a daughter in Beavers and a son in Cubs at 1st Aylesbury, both who really enjoy the activities and experiences on offer.
In my professional life, I work for an IT services company as a consultant specialising in the delivery and implementation of Microsoft cloud solutions and services. My hobbies include DIY, camping, hiking and spending time with my family. I am also a parent governor at the school that my children both attend.

TrusteeI got involved with 1st Aylesbury when my daughters started in Gates Cubs and Birch Beavers. They settled well but my son who was given a space in squirrels was a different story. After going awol for a while I made the decision to attend with him every week to help him settle. Well, I was hooked!
Having seen what a difference scouting has made to my children I couldn’t help but get more involved.
My role as a trustee allows me to help with decisions that will affect our young people. As a leader in both Alder Beavers and Disraeli Scouts it allows me to see how our young people embrace every opportunity that is given them and grow as a result. Some of the opportunities they have wouldn’t be possible without our dedicated fundraising team. And of course I’m part of that too!
In my personal life I work part time in a local supermarket which I love. It works perfectly around my children especially while they are young. I have a background in banking, retail and the area I studied at university, business. All of which helps me in my roles at 1st Aylesbury.

TrusteeHaving been a Cub at Gates and a Scout at Disraeli for 1st Aylesbury, then a Young Leader and Section Assistant before leaving for Lancaster University, it was only natural to return to the Group after finishing my studies.
In April 2023, I joined as a Trustee and the following year I took on the Section Leader role for Rothschild Scouts, allowing me to give back to the community which provided me with so much growing up.
Whilst at University, I served as Social Secretary and, later, President of Lancaster SSAGO (Student Scout and Guide Organisation), and in 2015, I attended the World Scout Jamboree in Japan as a participant. The latter being something I hope we can empower our Scouts to achieve in 2027!
Outside of Scouting, I work as an Infectious Disease Statistician at the University of Oxford and am very passionate about sports and, perhaps surprisingly, the Eurovision Song Contest!

Ex-Officio TrusteeJust like many volunteers, I first started volunteering with the group when my son’s Beaver section were looking for additional help! I’d previously helped at another local group with my eldest which I’d really enjoyed, so l jumped at the chance and I’m so glad l did!
I have been a part of 1st Aylesbury since 2009, with Beavers for over a decade and then l had the fun of building a team of volunteers to open the first Squirrel Drey in Aylesbury in 2022.
My new role as the Group Scout Leader is all about providing direction and support to develop our group and ensure its sustainability. I’m enjoying every minute and proud that I’m helping to create opportunities for young people and adults in my community.
I’m also an avid crafter and enjoy being part of a local yarn bombing group!
